Zhejiang Industry & Trade Vocational College is a provincial full-time public institution of higher education. It was established in 1999 through the joint restructuring of Zhejiang First Senior Technical School and Wenzhou Metallurgical Machinery Factory. The college is currently recognized as both a National “Double High” Plan institution (China’s initiative to develop high-level vocational colleges and programs) and a Provincial “Double High” Plan institution (Zhejiang’s initiative for high-level vocational college development).
Located in Wenzhou, Zhejiang province, the college operates two campuses: the Fudong Road Campus and the Oujiangkou Campus, covering a total area of 1,270 mu (approximately 85 hectares). It enrolls over 15,000 full-time students. At present, it comprises 9 secondary schools: School of Optoelectronic Manufacturing, School of Artificial Intelligence, School of Design and Digital Arts, School of International Business, School of Modern Management, School of Humanities, School of Technician Training and Continuing Education, School of Innovation and Entrepreneurship and School of International Education. Aligned with Zhejiang’s “415X” industrial cluster and Wenzhou’s “5+5” trillion-yuan industrial strategies, the college focuses on intelligent equipment manufacturing and strategic emerging industries. It has developed eight major program clusters: Intelligent Optoelectronic Manufacturing Technology, Artificial Intelligence Technology Application, Vision Training and Rehabilitation, Digital Business, Tourism and Leisure, New Energy Vehicle Technology, Digital Creative Design, Business Administration. These encompass 37 higher vocational programs, 1 four-year undergraduate program, 2 “college-to-undergraduate” bridge programs, 3 programs for international students, 2 Sino-foreign cooperative programs, and 4 secondary vocational programs.

It strives to build a distinctive, highly service-oriented, and first-class "Double High" institution in China. The college has built and strengthened three key collaborative entities: the National Industry-Education Integration Consortium for Metal New Materials, the National Industry-Education Integration Consortium for Eye Health, and the Wenzhou Bay New Area City-Wide Industry-Education Alliance. It has established 10 specialized industry schools, including the Wenzhou Low-Altitude Technology Industry School, Wenzhou 360 Industry School, Wenzhou Eyewear Industry School, Wenzhou Intellectual Property School, Wenzhou Cultural and Creative Industry School, Wenzhou Tennis School, Wenzhou Modern Logistics School, Wenzhou Cross-Border E-Commerce School, International Golden Key Academy (Wenzhou Branch), and Longgang City Intelligent Printing and Packaging Equipment Industry College. By advancing the integrated development of secondary and higher vocational education, the college has created a new model for industry-education integration. Through strengthened campus zones and practice bases, it has enhanced talent cultivation quality and formed a new pattern of zone-based collaborative education. Through multi-stakeholder collaboration and systematic, continuous reform in innovation and entrepreneurship education, the college has built a thriving ecosystem for cultivating entrepreneurial talents.
Since its establishment, the college has earned numerous honors, including: National Advanced Unit for Vocational Education, National Outstanding Contribution Unit for Cultivating Skilled Talents, National Demonstration Institution for Deepening Innovation and Entrepreneurship Education Reform, among the First National Batch of Innovation and Entrepreneurship Education Practice Bases, and recognition as one of the Top 50 Institutions with Typical Experience in Innovation and Entrepreneurship Education. The college hosts multiple national-level platforms and centers, such as: Makerspace, High-Skilled Talent Training Base, Cross-Strait Youth Entrepreneurship Base (approved by the Taiwan Affairs Office of the State Council), Digital Economy High-Skilled Talent Training Base, Ministry of Education Dual-Qualified Teacher Training Base for Intellectual Property, Ministry of Education Collaborative Innovation Center for Laser Manufacturing and Material Application Technology, Ministry of Education Collaborative Innovation Center for E-Commerce Integrated Services, and WIPO Technology and Innovation Support Center. It has led the development of two national-level vocational education teaching resource libraries: one for Opto-Mechatronics Application Technology, and another for Innovation and Entrepreneurship. In terms of teaching and research achievements, the college has received: 1 first prize and 3 second prizes in the National Teaching Achievement Awards for Vocational Education. It has 1 teacher team recognized as "Huang Danian-style Teacher Team" by the Ministry of Education, and 2 national-level teaching innovation teams. It has won first prize in the Teaching Ability Competition of the National Vocational College Skills competition, and third prize in the Zhejiang Provincial Science and Technology Progress Award. Since 2014, in the Zhejiang Provincial Survey on Graduate Career Development and Talent Cultivation Quality Survey, the college has consistently ranked among the top three higher vocational institutions, ranking first five times, second three times, and third once. It has also been selected by the Ministry of Education as a national exemplary case for graduate employment and entrepreneurship work among regular institutions of higher education.
