On November 14, the 2025 World Chinese Language Conference opened in Beijing. As one of the largest and most prestigious international events in the field of international Chinese language education, this year’s conference was themed “Innovation Leads, AI Empowers: Learning Chinese Without Borders”. The event attracted approximately 2,000 participants, including government officials, scholars and representatives from universities worldwide.

Yu Chuang, President of Zhejiang Industry & Trade Vocational College (ZJITC), and He Shaobo, Assistant General Manager of Dinson Holding of Tsingshan Industry, attended the conference as official representatives. During the event, they jointly signed a co-construction agreement with Yu Tianqi, Deputy Director of the Center for Language Education and Cooperation (CLEC) under China’s Ministry of Education, for the newly established “Center for Chinese Language and Professional Skills in Tsingshan Dinson at Zimbabwe”. The successful selection for the program marks a major breakthrough in ZJITC’s international school-running efforts and another substantial achievement in supporting China’s international industrial capacity cooperation and national strategies.

The Center for Chinese Language and Professional Skills is a key educational innovation platform initiated by the CLEC. It aims to integrate international Chinese education resources, serve national strategic needs, and innovate international talent training models. The program adopts a tripartite collaboration mechanism involving the CLEC, domestic colleges and universities, and Chinese-funded enterprises operating overseas. By adhering to the principles of joint consultation, co-construction and shared management, diversified investment, and mutual benefit, it has established 35 centers for Chinese language and professional skills in 25 countries and regions. Under the guidance and support of the Zhejiang Provincial Department of Education, the “Center for Chinese Language and Professional Skills in Tsingshan Dinson at Zimbabwe”, jointly established by ZJITC and Tsingshan Dinson Holding, was successfully selected from numerous applications nationwide after the rigorous review by the CLEC. It is one of the four key projects approved for focused development this year.

Zhejiang Dinson Holding Co., Ltd., the core investment platform of Tsingshan Industry in Zimbabwe, has deeply engaged in the African market for over a decade and become a key pillar in Zimbabwe’s industrial sector. In May this year, President Yu Chuang led a delegation to the Dinson Iron and Steel Base in Zimbabwe to better understand and align with the enterprise’s talent needs, laying a solid foundation for the project’s implementation. Following the establishment of a strategic partnership between ZJITC and Tsingshan Group, this cooperation represents another important measure to support Tsingshan’s “going global” strategy. It fully demonstrates the college’s commitment to being rooted in Wenzhou and serving the regional economic development.
In recent years, ZJITC has consistently pursued an “industry-oriented and industry-integrated approach to education”. By continuously advancing its international development strategy, the college has made remarkable achievements. It has been selected for the national “China-Africa Outstanding Cooperative Projects of TVET under the Framework of Future of Africa”. and designated as the “Silk Road School”, a flagship platform for Zhejiang’s educational cooperation under the Belt and Road Initiative. It has trained over 100 international students from countries including South Africa and Kazakhstan, and provided “Chinese Language and Professional Skills” training sessions with a total attendance of more than 1,000. Additionally, ZJITC has won 2 gold medals and 1 bronze medal in the international division of the 2025 World Vocational College Skills Competition. It has also compiled and published 2 bilingual “Chinese Language +” textbooks, and 2 projects developed by the college have been recognized by the Zhejiang Provincial Department of Education among the first batch of internationally influential educational resources and equipment.
Looking ahead, ZJITC will leverage the construction of the Center for Chinese Language and Professional Skills to further optimize its international education framework, innovate international talent training models, and contribute its wisdom and strengths to the high-quality development of the “Belt and Road” Initiative.
