Zhou Xiwei, Vice Chairman of Want Want China Times Media Group, Delivers a Lecture at ZJITC

On April 14, Zhou Xiwei, Vice Chairman of Want Want China Times Media Group and Chairman of the China Sustainable Urban Development and Education Foundation, visited Zhejiang Industry & Trade Vocational College (ZJITC) and delivered a lecture titled “The Cultural Splendor of China’s Golden Age.” He was warmly received by ZJITC’s Party Secretary Zhang Zhidong and President Yu Chuang, while being accompanied by Wang Ting, Deputy Director of the Wenzhou Taiwan Affairs Office, along with other officials. More than 200 people attended the lecture, including representatives from the Wenzhou Taiwan Affairs Office as well as faculty and students from the college’s School of Design and Digital Arts.

   

In the opening address, President Yu Chuang introduced Mr. Zhou’s longstanding commitment to promoting cross-Strait cultural exchanges and fostering shared Chinese identity. He also highlighted Mr. Zhou’s achievements as a distinguished artist, who is devoted to oil painting and has held numerous solo exhibitions at major art museums across both sides of the Taiwan Strait, earning wide recognition for his artistic accomplishment and cultural dedication.

                     

During the lecture, Mr. Zhou, drawing on his profound cultural background and unique perspective, offered an in-depth interpretation of the cultural essence and contemporary significance of China’s golden age. By comparing Chinese and Western cultures, he explored the distinctive aesthetics and spiritual core of fine traditional Chinese culture. He encouraged students to cherish their time of study, develop a deep appreciation for the richness and vitality of Chinese culture, strengthen their cultural confidence, and shoulder the mission of preserving and carrying forward China’s fine traditional culture.

                     

                     

The lecture further deepened cross-Strait cultural exchanges among young people and provided the ZJITC’s faculty and students with an intellectually inspiring and culturally enriching experience. It also gave a fresh boost to the college’s ongoing efforts to promote cultural exchange and cooperation across the Taiwan Strait.

Before the lecture, Mr. Zhou and his delegation visited the Library and the History Museum, where they gained an in-depth understanding of ZJITC’s educational history, cultural heritage, and achievements in advancing exchanges with Taiwan.
