On June 23, 2026, a delegation headed by Zharmagambetova Meruyert, Rector of Academy of Logistics and Transport, Almaty, Kazakhstan (ALT University), and Abdreshov Shamil, Vice Rector of the university, visited the Oujiangkou Campus of Zhejiang Industry & Trade Vocational College (ZJITC) for an exchange visit. Yu Chuang, President of ZJITC, warmly received the delegation. Heads of the Office of International Cooperation and Exchange, relevant administrative departments and schools of ZJITC accompanied the visit and attended the discussion.

At the discussion, President Yu Chuang extended a warm welcome to the delegation and introduced ZJITC’s initiatives in internationalized education and featured talent cultivation under the “vocational education going global” initiative. He noted that the two institutions share complementary educational strengths and enjoy broad prospects for cooperation. He hoped that both sides would focus on the core fields of logistics and transportation and deepen multi-dimensional cooperation in education and teaching, scientific research and innovation, and cultural exchanges. Building on the good-neighborly friendship between China and Kazakhstan, both sides could actively explore new paths and models for vocational education cooperation.

Rector Zharmagambetova Meruyert introduced that ALT University is a leading state-run technical university in Kazakhstan specializing in transportation, logistics and supply chains, rail transit and digital transportation, as well as a key training base for transportation infrastructure talent in Central Asia. She hoped that, taking this exchange as an opportunity, both institutions could leverage their respective featured educational resources, disciplinary strengths, and geographical advantages to jointly expand the landscape of international education cooperation. She expected in-depth cooperation in talent cultivation, scientific research, and faculty training to achieve mutual benefit and coordinated development.
