Rule of Law Safeguard - Peace of Mind for International Studies: Wenzhou Public Security Bureau's Legal Awareness Campaign for International Students at Zhejiang Industry & Trade Vocational College
Author: Date:Dec 1, 2025

To help international students clarify the legal boundaries during their stay in China and enhance their safety awareness and prevention capabilities, the Exit-Entry Administration and Criminal Investigation Detachment of Wenzhou Public Security Bureau walked into the School of International Education, Zhejiang Industry & Trade Vocational College , and launched a thematic publicity activity themed "Rule of Law Safeguards · Peaceful Study Abroad". International students from South Africa, Kazakhstan and other countries gathered together, gaining an exclusive "legal and safety guide" through two informative lectures.

At the event site, Police Officer Ouyang Chao from the Exit-Entry Administration of Wenzhou Public Security Bureau focused on the core issues most concerned by international students and delivered a targeted lecture. Covering everything from visa application procedures and key notes for residence permit extension to passport storage standards, cross-border travel safety requirements, and specific processes for accommodation registration and filing, Officer Ouyang transformed complex laws and regulations into "easy-to-understand and remember" practical knowledge through plain language combined with real cases. Key points closely related to daily study and life, such as "International students must report changes in accommodation within 24 hours during their stay in China" and "Immediately contact the police and the school if a passport is lost," were carefully noted down in their notebooks by the international students. Many students also volunteered to raise their hands to ask questions, and Officer Ouyang responded to each one patiently, creating a lively interactive atmosphere on site.

Subsequently, Police Officer Dai Liqi from the Criminal Investigation Detachment of Wenzhou Public Security Bureau launched a lecture centered on "safety protection." Targeting potential public security risks that international students may encounter, Officer Dai provided detailed explanations on aspects such as daily public security prevention (e.g., safety precautions on and around campus, property storage skills), common types of fraud (telecom fraud, online fraud) and response methods, as well as emergency assistance channels (campus emergency call, 110 call procedures, bilingual assistance skills). Through "case analysis combined with prevention suggestions," Officer Dai reminded the students: "Do not trust unfamiliar calls, disclose personal information, or make transfers," and demonstrated the correct steps for seeking help in emergencies on site, enabling international students to learn to "stay calm and seek help in accordance with the law when encountering problems."

The bridge of communication between the school and the police built by this activity is not only a "platform for answering questions" but also a "bridge of connection". We hope all international students will translate what you have learned today into daily habits, take the initiative to pay attention to the relevant provisions of China's laws and regulations, and consult the school or the police in a timely manner when encountering doubts. May the light of the rule of law always illuminate your study-abroad journey, allowing you to study at ease, live happily, and achieve growth at ZJITC, and write a wonderful chapter of cross-border study while knowing and abiding by the law!
